Knockanean

The clients brief was for a garden that looked good all year round from both the garden and the house. The project was divided into three main areas, the front of the house, the courtyard and the main entertaining/BBQ seating area. The ethos behind the courtyard design was to extend the interior space into the outdoors and bring the outdoors into the indoor space.

All year round structure and colour was therefore essential in the courtyard. The other areas were designed to maximise the views of the countryside and to provide an area that would be both practical and used for recreation purposes and would complement the site. The type and colour of the paving was chosen so as to tie in with the windows cills and paintwork on the house.
