The Garden Design and Build process

1. Initial Consultation

The initial consultation allows us to view your site in detail and find out your wants and needs for the garden. This meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know how the garden will be used. Do you want to use it for entertaining or relaxing? Do you enjoy gardening or require low-maintenance? Do you need space for kids or pets? It will all help us build a profile of your requirements which is reflected in our designs. We will carry out a brief overview survey of the garden including taking some photographs and outline measurements.

2. Budget

It is important to agree a budget as early as possible.  Some clients are unsure of what garden design plans and landscaping costs but ultimately the cost will depend on the size and scope of the project and how you define good value.  Building a garden with inferior design quality and cheap materials which does not address your brief is not good value.  The value of great garden design is longevity, creating your vision in a space that will become an extension of your home.  Most of our clients see a very respectable return on their investment through increased property value.

3. The Garden Design Stage

After the initial consultation we go back to the office and start working on the garden design. Once the initial concept sketches are complete we arrange a meeting with you to present the new garden design.  Sketch plans will show the proposed layout of the garden, and depending on the size of the project we will present mood boards indicating plants, materials, finishes and accessories. We will also show you 3D visuals of the proposed garden design.

4. The Garden Build Stage

Once you have given the proposed design the green light, the McKeogh Landscapes team will arrive onsite and start building your garden.
